{"id":11361,"date":"2015-09-15T12:39:29","date_gmt":"2015-09-15T19:39:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/planets.ucla.edu\/?page_id=11361"},"modified":"2015-10-15T15:25:24","modified_gmt":"2015-10-15T22:25:24","slug":"prospective-students","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/planets.ucla.edu\/?page_id=11361","title":{"rendered":"Prospective Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Students<\/strong> interested in planetary science at UCLA can take classes in several different departments on campus.\u00a0 For now, students who wish to study planetary science can major in Geophysics and Space Physics, Geochemistry or Geology within the Department of Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences, or Physics and Astronomy within the Department of Physics and Astronomy.\u00a0 Undergraduates can find graduation requirements for the <a href=\"http:\/\/epss.ucla.edu\">EPSS<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/atmos.ucla.edu\/\">AOS<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/astro.ucla.edu\">PA <\/a>departments here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Planetary Science<\/strong> encapsulates the scientific study of planetary bodies, including the 8 planets that orbit the Sun, their satellites, dwarf planets such as Ceres and Pluto, and minor planets such as asteroids and comets.
